Project description
Apprenticeships provide quality learning, reduce skill gaps, and boost youth employment. They rely on mentors who can teach well.
MentorTrain helped technically skilled people in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in gaining teaching skills. The project aimed to offer a platform to teach such mentors to pass on their skills effectively. It also helped apprenticeship managers to design high-quality, meaningful placements.
The project was in particular geared towards SMEs working with students or apprentices from higher education institutions at EQF levels 5-7.
MentorTrain helped employers and students to improve
- competences of mentors in SMEs
- learning outcomes of apprentices
- apprenticeship offer by SMEs through better mentors and clear apprenticeship placements
