Highlights from the European Digital Education Hub
The European Digital Education Hub (EDEH) is driving change in digital education. The Hub has wrapped up its third – and final – year, and we’re proud of what we’ve achieved together.
In the past year, we brought together thousands of educators, policymakers, and experts. They explored new ideas to improve digital education across Europe. We’ve
- built a strong community,
- supported mentorship and peer learning,
- encouraged knowledge-sharing and innovation, and
- kept the conversation going through workshops, events, and online engagement.
Next, we’ll grow more. We’ll expand collaboration and innovation in digital education.
If you too are active in digital education, come and be part of the movement.
What we’ve achieved
Building a strong community
We’ve built a lively Community of Practice (CoP) with 6,778 members from more than 90 countries. It aims to shape the future of digital education. The community is a safe and inspirational space to share ideas and learn from each other.
Over the past year, we’ve:
- Organised workshops in Paris, Stockholm, and Brussels, with attendees from more than 20 EU countries.
- Supported six themed groups (squads) working on reports about immersive learning, explainable AI, and hybrid learning spaces.
- Encouraged over 5,800 posts and 7,700 reactions on the Hub’s MS Teams platform, showing strong engagement.
Mentorship and advice
We’ve helped EU educators and policymakers put digital education into action. We did this through mentorships and online clinics. Over the past year, we’ve:
- Supported 30 mentorships and three online clinics to get expert advice. Topics included digital transformation, inclusion, and micro-credentials.
- Helped a school administrator introduce digital tools for teacher training, increasing participation by 15%.
- Guided a vocational training centre in developing a pilot micro-credential programme. The programme is now recognised by local employers.
These efforts have made a real difference, with 90% of participants saying they found them useful.
Expanding knowledge and innovation
Our knowledge building webinars attracted 919 participants. More than 90% found them helpful. We covered topics from AI ethics to teacher well-being. One notable session focused on how to use artificial intelligence responsibly in classrooms.
The Innovation Accelerator programme backed eight prototypes. It showcased them to over 700 people at events like Online Educa Berlin.
Keeping the conversation going
We’ve kept our community informed through newsletters, social media updates, and reports. We shared success stories, upcoming events, and digital education trends. We’ve also:
- Created advocacy packages tailored to different audiences.
- Designed visual campaigns to boost online engagement.
- Used webinars and live Q&A sessions to make our work more interactive.
What’s next?
As we move into the next phase, we’ll continue to grow collaboration and innovation. We’ll improve our approach and tackle challenges by expanding
- Mentoring programmes
- Innovation workshops
- Digital toolkits
