Project description
YOUROPE aims to strengthen European democracy by engaging young people, particularly those from under-represented groups. The project create opportunities where youth can actively shape democratic policies. For this it makes use of the Community-Led Research and Action (CLRA) approach . YOUROPE champions inclusive democracy by uniting 17 institutions from 11 European countries. The project aims to connect young people with policymakers. It will co-create democratic roadmaps for Europe’s future.
Key objectives:
- increase political participation among under-represented youth
- develop inclusive and participatory democratic spaces
- implement the CLRA methodology to promote sustainable, evidence-based democratic practices
- position educational institutions as key platforms for fostering democratic engagement
- facilitate direct interaction between young citizens and European policymakers to influence future democratic policies
KIC role
KIC plays a pivotal role in the YOUROPE project by relying on our expertise in inclusive learning experience and democracy & youth. We lead communication efforts that span local, national, and European levels. We highlight young people’s values and their critical role in shaping a more democratic future. We make sure YOUROPE’s communication reaches the right people with the right message. We
- develop and implement the project’s communication strategy
- host Design Thinking workshops to refine the project’s key messages
- design, build and manage the project’s website
- oversee social media channels,
- produce regular digital content
- publishing findings in scholarly journals
We help YOUROPE’s work gain recognition in academic and policy-making circles by
- presenting at conferences
- showcasing the project’s creative aspects through CitizenArt exhibitions
