We’ve joined the Pact for Skills to shape Europe’s digital future

"I am now a Pact for Skills member" is the text on the promotional image. This initiative by the European Commission brings together stakeholders for developing the EU's workforce. The KIC joined the Pact for Skills.

We have joined the European Commission’s Pact for Skills. This move takes our promise to connect education and employment across Europe to a new level. We want to help close skills gaps, boost employability, and support lifelong learning as part of the Pact’s digital ecosystem.

Why this matters to us

The Pact for Skills is a movement that mirrors everything we stand for at KIC. From our early days as enthusiastic student union members, we’ve believed that better education helps people achieve their potential. Now, as a leading consultancy in education, skills, and employment, we’re bringing that same energy to the Pact for Skills.

Our decision to join reflects our core mission: we’re curious, we make things happen, and we love using technology to multiply impact. The Pact provides the perfect platform to scale these values across industries and borders.

What we bring to the table

We’re contributing our expertise in several key areas that directly support the Pact’s goals:

  • Modernising education systems – We specialise in consultancy, research, and IT development that help education systems teach the skills that tomorrow’s job market demands. Our quality-assured approaches ensure that innovation doesn’t come at the expense of standards.
  • Digital innovation – As tech enthusiasts, we’re exploring how digitalisation and interoperability can make skills development more efficient and far-reaching.
  • Micro-credentials and modular learning – We develop flexible frameworks aligned with labour market needs, supporting qualification systems and credit recognition. This makes it easier for people to upskill without putting their lives on hold.
  • Work-based and inclusive learning – We promote accessible routes to qualification that work for everyone, regardless of their starting point. Because we’re all about people, and that means all people.
  • Capacity-building initiatives – We lead masterclasses and create practical toolkits and resources that empower educators, policymakers, and institutions. We don’t just talk about skills, we give people the tools to make it happen.
  • Quality assurance in education – We help ensure that upskilling and reskilling programmes deliver genuine value, building trust between learners, employers, and education providers.

Through these activities, we’re bridging skills gaps, enhancing employability, and fostering lifelong learning across Europe.

See what we do:

Building partnerships that work

The Pact focuses on strong skills partnerships, which we love. We’ve always built on the ideas of others—remixing great concepts, giving credit, and building solutions for reuse. Through the Pact, we’ll work with businesses, education providers, public authorities, and social partners to make a lasting impact.

We’re particularly excited about contributing to the monitoring of skills supply and demand. Our research skills and consultancy expertise allow us to spot emerging skills gaps before they become major issues.

Moving forward together

Joining the Pact for Skills isn’t just about adding another partnership to our portfolio. It’s about taking concrete action.

As we always ask ourselves: “What’s next?” Well, this is it. We’re ready to help Europe’s workforce adapt, grow, and thrive in an ever-changing landscape. Because when we invest in people’s skills, we’re investing in everyone’s future.
