This document provides a roadmap for decision-makers and healthcare and education centre managers and includes a series of recommendations relating to the aspects to be taken into consideration in order to achieve a suitable focus for simulation-based training in their respective centres.

The recommendations offered are the result of the development of the European SIMBASE Project1 and consequence of the analysis of the experience of the use of simulation in training activities in a variety of healthcare and education centres in four different countries, an analysis that has involved the application of a variety of investigative methods and techniques, both qualitative and quantitative.
