Mr. Anthony F. Camilleri has presented a report on Implications of Open Education for the Maltese Educational System at the Round-Table Seminar on the Accreditation of Blended and Digital learning organised by Maltese National Commission for Further and Higher Education which took place on 25th March 2015 at Archbishop’s Seminary in Tal-Virtu Rabat, Malta.
Discussions centred around:
- how the country performs compared to various international benchmarks
- regulatory implications, especially vis-a-vis quality assurance
- potential business opportunities arising out of open education
The report itself aims to give a high-level overview of Open Education, with a special focus on MOOCs, with the aim of allowing Maltese policy makers to better navigate the policy landscape and identify key trends which may be leveraged to strengthen Maltese HE, in line with the priorities set out by the Framework Strategy for the Education Strategy of Malta for 2014-2024.
